I’ve had my MacBook already for quite a while. If I am not mistaken, it’s going to be almost 2 years in February. I love my MacBook soo much, I can even say proudly, without any fear, I am Windows-FREE
This means for those who doesn’t understand, I don ‘t run Windows on any of my computers anymore and try to avoid Windows. However, there is one little problem that has recently giving me a headache. The right front side of my MacBook, palm rest area, has developed a crack. But there is even more, the palm protector, moshi, corner is missing. It’s unbelievable; I have been taking care of my MacBook very well. Most of the people always wonder how come my MacBook looks to white and shiny.

I did a little research on the almighty web and apparently numbers of people are having the same exact problem as I have. Not to mentioned that my girl friend, a mac lover too, got the same issue. It seems that the crack is under Apple Care warranty. But I am afraid that my Apple Care is no longer valid. This sucks!
Recently, I came across a new application for the iPhone. I have been looking for a comic/manga reader for the iPhone for quite some time. I’ve already tried some of the most famous comic reader for the iPhone, such as Clickwheel Comic Reader or iVerse. However, I just can’t get the feeling of reading a comic. But anyway, I stumbled across a new iPhone comic reader recently, named the iComic. iComic is a native iPhone application that allows you to read comics, manga, etc… in a .ZIP format. Yeah yeah, I know that nowadays people use a file format, called .CBR, or Comic Book RAR. But .ZIP is not bad, at least not for me

This application is awesome! To navigate through a comic/manga book, simply click the right or left bottom corner! If you want to go back to the main menu, tap on the top left of the screen. This can be done regardless whether you are on portrait or landscape mode. And the weirdest thing is Gravity Page Slide. The idea is to navigate with iPhone’s accelerometer. But somehow this function doesn’t work for me. Anyway, I am more than happy to read manga
At first it was a bit confusing to operate this application, since everything is in Japanese. But don’t worry, I have translated the menus to English for those who are unable to read Japanese.
Before I forget, this application is also available for iPhone 2G/3G firmware 2.0. Just make sure that you have it jailbreaked!
Download:iComic | download iComic English translation for v013
To install the translation, just simply place the English.lproj directory in /Applications/iComic.app/ directory. If that doesn’t work, you can replace the content of the English.lproj with the Japanese.lproj directory.
A couple of months ago, someone dropped the brand new iPhone. Nothing happened except the ringer-switch is not working anymore. Although the ringer-switch button can switch, the function of the switch doesn’t work. The only possible solution to have the iPhone in a silient-mode is to change the volume level or the ringtone in the Sound Preference panel. But doing this all the time is extremely annoying (partly due to laziness)…
So therefore, to find a solution for this problem I started looking for a software-based solution that does exactly what the ringer-switch does, or more-or-less. After some while, having absolutely no luck in finding, I started to think that training my fingers is maybe the way to go…
That is until I found the power of the launchctl command. Continue reading…
